Hurricane Charley Relief

John visited Hardee County, Wauchula, Florida two weeks after Hurricane Charley ripped through the area. In an effort to recruit volunteers to help the residents of the area, John made an appearance at the Emergency Operations Center. As always, he made time to sign a few autographs for some young fans.

“John’s support has uplifted the spirits here and he is making a strong impact in the lean up process” said Richard S. Shepard, PIO.

 

 

 

John also lent his skills with a chain saw to help area residents remove huge downed trees resulting from the high winds and subsequent flooding.

 

This is not likely to be his last visit to the area. “I’d like to come back in about six months and see how these guys are making out”, he said.
