July 22, 2004 --- John Rocker was invited to participate in the southeast EMMYS this year. He presented the award for excellence in sports reporting for the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences (NATAS). Over six hundred media professionals attended this black tie event at the Grand Hyatt in Buckhead-Atlanta.

When asked how he felt about presenting awards to the media, Rocker replied, “It’s sort of ironic to have me as a presenter here, but I think it shows everyone that I’ve moved on. There’s no animosity – just a genuine respect for those who have made great achievements in their fields of work. It’s an honor for me to be here presenting these awards.”
